Several
media wrote about the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) having the
ISPUNet application as an information channel for monitoring air quality. This
application makes air quality information visible to the public easily, quickly
and up to date. Public policy observer Agus Pambagio assesses that this
application from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is far more
trustworthy than others, which actually have a hidden agenda in conveying
information on Jabodetabek air quality. On the other hand, Agus also denied the
Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) organization's study
regarding state losses due to the operation of Steam Power Plants (PLTU).

wrote about the Financial Services Authority (OJK) stating that carbon exchange
trading for the first time will start on 26 September 2023. Regarding the
implementation of the carbon tax, Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency of the
Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), Febrio Kacaribu said that at this time it is
not necessary because the road map or roadmap is still being prepared. He said
that his party also could not confirm the right time for the carbon tax roadmap
to be published. The aim of establishing a carbon tax roadmap is to ensure that
it does not disrupt other aspects that are still related to the implementation
of the carbon market in Indonesia. On the other hand, the carbon tax price will
be determined by market mechanisms through demand and supply aspects.
Therefore, this market mechanism will illustrate how global interest is in participating
in reducing carbon emissions in Indonesia.
