In every coal fire power station always produce gas, CO2, CO, NO2, NO and S02. Specially for SO2 gas can be absorbed to the auxilliary plant system that we call Flue Gas De-sulphurization plant (FGD).
In the coal which sulphur contain more than 2% should be used FGD with limestone slurry as absorb media and from chemical reaction produced gypsum slurry.
Final product of gypsum need de-watering system for gypsum slurry to produce good gypsum cake as animation picture above describes one of dewatering system part that we call Rotary Drum.

How to increase the strength of gypsum to make it suitable for construction purposes.
ReplyDeleteActually I don't know because our main product is electricity. Gypsum and fly ash are the waste product but still useful for cement industry. I just wonder from the gypsum colour, if it tend to yellow meaning good but if yellow and brown/black meaning bad because it contaminated with ash or the flue gas content high unburn carbon.
