Buchholz Relay Alarm Part 7 (Final)

External Inspection
The cause of gas accumulation in the Buchholz Relay was thought to be suction effect by oil pump operation but after transformer tank was pressurized 0.015Mpa through conservator rubber bag with nitrogen gas confirm the leakage.

Minor oil leakage was found at the flange of LV (2W) bushing. And the other points such as oil pipe flanges and air release vents no oil leakage was found. Toshiba recommends replacing LV bushing gaskets (all three phases) and for the safety shake, O-ring of upper oil pipe air vent plug is also recommended to replace.




Internal Inspection.






After conservator rubber bag replacement done, and transformer cooler system put to in service for 4 hours that confirm no gas appear on Buchholz Relay (oil insulating already purified).
