The Election Day

On 08 April 2009 in the early morning before election of Indonesia’s parliament, as operator I was on duty in unit 660 MW which scheduled to shut down and de-synchronize at 03:00.

But close to 03:00, the frequency of Java Bali grid was always tendency to below 50 Hz. It means the grid was still need electric supply. Much big industrial plant was not stopping their production. The dispatcher didn’t release us to shut down.

At four, five and six o’clock went by, we were still waiting the permissive from dispatcher to shut down the unit. It was going to be a long night for us.
We had the schedule to repair some minor problem and maintenance people already woke up in the early morning. They were unhappy due to not sleep tight.

Finally at 06:30 the dispatcher informs to us that the shut down canceled. Everybody was happy and holiday was continuous.
