Gassing Generator

After Generator under repair and will be put to in service, generator needs to fill with hydrogen for rotor cooler. Sequence gassing generator are replace air with CO2 and then replace CO2 with H2. More details, click here.

If we have 85 meter cube of generator volume, how many bottles of H2 that we need to inject to generator until generator pressure 4.5 bar?

One bottle of H2 has 150 bar pressure and the volume of H2 bottle and total bottles that we need can be calculated as follow

















Hydrogen pressure always reduce caused by absorb with seal oil system but categorize generator leakage will be describe as below. This test could be done by instrument air with pressure around 4.5 Bar for 11-12hours before gassing Generator.
