countries that are part of the Southeast Asian Union. The CFPP is called Batang
CFPP, construction of which began during the administration of President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono. Then the process of building the Batang CFPP in Central Java
was continued by President Joko Widodo and was completed in 2022. Unit 1 of the
Batang CFPP started operating commercially on 15 August 2022 and unit 2 started
on 31 August 2022. This CFPP was built in order to support the reliability of
electricity supply. Java-Bali. Because Batang Power Plant or Central Java Power
Plant (CJPP) is a mega project for an ultra-critical coal-fired power plant

wrote about the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) revealed that
it was still conducting a study regarding plans to stop operating a number of
Coal-Fired Power Plants (CFPPs) sooner than the initial plan, aka early
retirement. Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources
Dadan Kusdiana said that currently his party is continuing to discuss with PT
PLN (Persero) regarding the early retirement plan for the first CFPP. There are
at least two CFPP candidates who are included in the early retirement program,
both Pelabuhan Ratu CFPP and Cirebon-1 CFPP. Previously, Deputy Coordinator for
Transportation and Infrastructure at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime
Affairs and Fisheries, Rachmat Kaimuddin, said that his party had prepared 1-2
CFPPs projects for retirement. Even so, Rachmat said that there were still
costs that Indonesia had to pay to retire the CFPP. He said that eliminating
the CFPP would mean removing the investment from the government's investment
books.

wrote about Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati together with Dutch Finance
Minister Sigrid Kaag who chaired a meeting between world Finance Ministers who
are members of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action
(Coalition). As co-chair of the Coalition, Sri Mulyani said that the 10th
Ministerial level Coalition meeting was directed at strengthening commitment to
dealing with the global climate crisis. According to Sri Mulyani, several
threatening climate crisis phenomena have occurred throughout 2023. Starting
from the occurrence of global boiling in July 2023 where the earth's
temperature was recorded as the hottest in history. And the increase in global
average sea surface temperature was up to 0.51 degrees Celsius higher than the
1991-2020 average. One of the initiatives being encouraged is the Climate
Action Statement from each country. Indonesia's leadership in encouraging a
green financial ecosystem is proven through several policies and mechanisms.
Examples include the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) Country Platform then
SDG Indonesia One. Then there is the Green Taxonomy, the Carbon Economic Value (NEK)
instrument, the climate change spending mechanism in the State/Regional Revenue
and Expenditure Budget (APBN/APBD), the ESG manual for PPPs, and innovative
financing through sovereign Green Sukuk, Blue Bonds, and SDG Bonds . As ASEAN
Chairman 2023, Indonesia has also produced ASEAN Green Taxonomy version 2 which
includes the termination of Coal-Fired Power Plants (CFPPs) as a type of green
investment. The Coalition's Ministerial level meeting will be held again at the
28th UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP 28) in Dubai next December with
higher commitment.
