Plate HX valve composition

Generator stator cooling water cooler capacity usually 1x100%, outlet cooler water temperature usually set to 45C by opening 3-way control valve.

If one cooler already operating maximum could be indication at 3-way valve opening 100%, it means that cooler is dirty.





















The very save maneuver valve could be wait until load below 200MVA 0.9pf due to Generator Stator no need cooler at that load.

If running one cooler is not enough, we can put both cooler in operation. The composition of valves like picture below this.



















But if we already running two cooler but the stator cooling water still high, we must take careful analysis and consideration. This picture below is check point of temperature at U2.



















If we compare to U1, the strength data could be find at DT each cooler. Cooler A DT is higher than cooler B.




















The problem could be thermocouple problem, 3-way valve passing or cooler actual dirty. We don't have other choice while we wait unit outage unless we make heat transfer calculation analysis...
