Smart grid is the new generation of electricity systems characterized by the growing use of communications and information technology in power generation, distribution and consumption of electric energy.
This is energy source of electricity with this concept integrated and reduce dependence on natural resources which can not be renewed. Potential energy sources that can be used in the development of this concept like solar energy and geothermal power.
The plan, next year (2012) in the territory of Sumba will form the first smart grid that was built with a capacity of Indonesia reached the 500 kilowatt (kw).
Construction of the smart grid will be completed by March next year (2012), with the value of the investment reaches $ 42 billion.
