After circulating water and condensate pump in service, vacuum up of condenser is next sequence before turbine warming in the unit start up.
This is should be easy work but sometimes goes to hard work. This was happen when we forgot to shut the heater drain, and then the condenser vacuum hard to reach -0.9 mbar due to ambient air pass through the heater normal vent line direct connection to condenser.
In the different case, condenser vacuum also hard to reach -0.9 mbar if we forget to open the vacuum breaker sealing water. Ambient air passes through the vacuum breaker valve which passing condition. To avoid that, make sure sealing water at over flow condition. Or other reason…
How to make condenser vacuum?
Preparation.
1.Circulating water pump in Service.
2.Condensates pump in service.
3.Warming seal steam line.
4.Air Tank already sealed.
5.Establish vacuum pump cooler.
6.Establish vacuum breaker seal water
The sequence to make condenser vacuum.
1.Start gland steam exhaust.
2.Open seal steam supply valve.
3.Start vacuum pump.
4.Shut vacuum breaker valve.
This put to final step do to avoid over pressure inside turbine and could make turbine rupture disk broken.
5.Condenser reach –0.9 mbar.
How to break condenser vacuum?
1.Stop vacuum pump.
2.Open vacuum breaker valve.
This step do to avoid over pressure inside turbine and could make turbine rupture disk broken.
3.Shut seal steam.
4.Stop gland steam exhaust.
